Off the computer
When the laptop closes

When the laptop closes, a lot of it is outdoors. I camp in Colorado and Arkansas when I can, and I get to Europe about once a year.
I'm a superhero movie nerd, Marvel and DC both, and Star Wars sits right next to them. So does Avatar: The Last Airbender. I play all sorts of video games, Pokemon included. There's a shelf of twisty puzzles by my desk, the Rubik's cube among them. Old habits.
My favorite way to spend an evening is at a whiteboard with creative people, chasing an idea that might actually help somebody. Hackathons are that, compressed into a weekend. I try to be in rooms where I know the least; it's the fastest way to learn.
The rest is friends and family.

Music
Guitar every day
I play guitar every day, and half the music tools in my projects came from it: Musical-Key-Detector reads the key of whatever's playing, Microphone-Input-into-Guitar-Tabs turns what I play into tab, Pi-Spotify-Lyrics is a now-playing display for a Raspberry Pi, and AIPlaylistMaker builds a Spotify playlist from a vibe.
